Invitation Wording Couple As Hosts
Here are elegant and commonly used UK wording examples when the couple themselves are hosting (i.e., paying for or issuing the invitation, even if parents are contributing behind the scenes). These are very popular now, especially among couples marrying in their late 20s or 30s.
Not all couples bow to tradition, instead choosing to host their own wedding day – and foot the bill – themselves. If this is the case, your parents’ details can be omitted from the invite so that it comes direct from you.
The basic wording can be similar to the Traditional or Civil examples already given – just put yourselves as hosts instead of your parents.
Invites direct from the couple getting married tend to be less formal.
Here are some wedding invitation wording couple as hosts examples:

{Couple} invite you to share in our joy as we get married

Key UK notes when the couple hosts:
You can still say “together with their families” (line 1 or near the top) if parents are contributing or you simply want to acknowledge them without listing names.
“The honour of your presence” = church or religious venue.
“Request the pleasure of your company” = civil ceremony or reception only.
No one is ever “given away” in the wording when the couple hosts.
